Why I Love the Springtime

The earth is brown, the trees are bare, the grass is thin.
The wind is cool, the sun peeks out once in awhile.
It rains. It rains. It rains.
And then:
Tiny flowers peep out of brown ground.
Buds appear on trees, then leaves and flowers.
The grass grows thickly.
The wind is still cool; the sun still doesn't shine every day.
And it rains. It rains. It rains.
This is the cycle of the seasons.
New life is coming forth!

(continued below)

And when I go through my dry times, when my life seems fruitless;
When the leaves have fallen off my trees
And it doesn't seem as though any hope remains--
I remember the spring.
God does it again!
He does it for the trees; He does it for the flowers.
And He'll do it for me too.

These pictures were taken on a picturesque stretch of the Trent and Mersey canal from Congleton to Macclesfield, and on the Cauldon branch of the same canal which winds through the beautiful Churnet valley.
